Always keep your hat on. You know back in those days there was quite a lot of jealous guys in the audience and sometimes you have to run. But, If you got your hat on your head and you have to run, you know you left the house with it - Mississippi John Hurt giving advice to Archie Edwards

Anne Graham & Leadbelly live on WNYC radio in 1941
« on: June 16, 2013, 06:32:33 PM »
Hi all

Looking for Anne Graham's music, I came across this 14 minute radio show from February 1941. I don't believe this was posted already?

Leadbelly does an expert job backing Anne Graham. His own songs are great too, especially the version of "Gallow's Pole".

This is fabulous! Thanks Pan!

Just wonderful! Makes me wonder how many more gems like this just sit about in station archives, waiting to be discovered?

Great find!

try mousing over the dates on the calendar to the right and you can see what else was recorded around that time. Like this one from Feb 12th with Lead Belly, Albert Ammons, Sam Price and the Golden Gate Singers (Quartet?)
