I think American children ought to be taught about roots music, just like they're taught about Thomas Jefferson or Mark Twain - Pete Wernick

This is pretty cool!  I can't say that I have ever been much into comics or graphic novels, but I think I might just get a copy!

I remember a number of years back, Tom Rozum advertised on his CD Carter Family action figures, and they have to be my all-time favorite candidates for such an honor.
All best,

Well I have to say that I am also not one for action figures, but I think that I would have to own a set of Carter Family action figures if they existed!

I'm not a graphic novel person either, though with a very nice graphic novel/comics bookstore around the corner from me, I have come to appreciate the art and care that goes into the production of many of them just from browsing. This is one I may pick up finally.

And the action figures sound like a great idea!

I have to say that a set of Carter Family action figures would go well on my desk right next to the Pope Innocent III (born 1161, died 1216) action figure that someone once gave me.

I'm not one for graphic novels, either, but this is one I just might run out and get.

I hope you all have R. Crumb Draws the Blues with his great bio of Charlie Patton. If not run do not walk.........

I've seen his blues trading cards and and his Heroes of Blues, Jazz & Country , but his "Draws The Blues" is new to me!  I just need to get my hands on some extra $$ now!!

That preview of the Carter Family comic has been bugging me, in a good way, since I first viewed it several days ago. It's very understated and zen-like. That's very hard to do in these days of full on media b/s

Monochrome action figures based on classic publicity shots is my crave. Minnie & Joe, Lemon, Blake, Big Bill in tasteful shades of grey.

Why has no-one to my knowledge yet made a series of historic bluesmen action figures? Seems a shame to me!
That's all she wrote Mabel!

Maybe bobbleheads, like the sports teams sell. They could have springy arms as well as heads, so if someone slams a door, Son House strums his guitar.

Because it would most likely be a money losing venture.  Would be cool though!  You can have a custom, one off bobblehead made, but it is pretty expensive.  Just Google "custom bobbleheads".
