...in a car wreck in a little town called Mound Bayou Miss. I was visiting my mother. I drove 700 miles from Chicago. I was okay but on the return I fell asleep at the wheel. I was playing again the next day though. I never gave up. It cut my arm clean off and left it in the highway. Then I walked 2.5 miles to a girlfriend and picked up my arm and brought it on to Clarksdale. When the ambulance men come with stretchers, I was in bed smoking, so I drove back in front with the guys. I was in hospital for three days only. For a while I still had pain at night. As you know, fever rises at night and that's how it was - Big John Wrencher on losing his arm

I don't suppose anybody plays vinyl these days but those who still use the old technology may be in interested this item in the LP sale section http://tinyurl.com/5vecyd3

Folk pay silly sums for the original Raglan and slightly less sillier prices for the 70s Arhoolie version. It's worth it for Mack McCormick's booklet alone!

The sale ended Monday, I got in at the last moment with an order for some interesting stuff; couple of Bill Gaither Documents, Masters of Steel String Guitar featuring our good buddy Eddie Pennington, and Mr. Whistling Alex Moore.

I bought 21 with a similar number last year but both times got caught by British customs and ended up paying them just shy of ?30.

I buy from plenty of American outlets but for some reason only have to pay duty on what I buy from Arhoolie.

Perhaps their packaging is too honest.
