A lot of people play this music and what they'll do is do a cover. I don't do a cover, I do a dedication - Jerry Ricks, on playing traditional blues, interview in Blues Review No. 46, April 1999

Another Dreaded Dred!
« on: October 09, 2010, 07:45:33 AM »
Since Dave showed us his recent dread and didn't get banned, I thought I'd show mine.  :D

12 fret slope shoulder, stained spruce top, mahogany b&s, maple headplates and binding, golden age 3 on a plate tuners.

This is my first venture into dread territory but I'm enjoying the change from the small grand concert and parlor sizes I've been building.

Even a short sound clip.

One thing about it these small boxes give you more guitar to hide behind. :D

Sorry about the double video and extra code numbers, obviously I'm not doing something right.

I fixed it for you. No need to copy all the imbedded stuff --- just include the youtube url and the forum will imbed it properly.

Another gorgeous dreadnaught, love the amber stain - sounds great too!

I also like it Joe, even though you piled on and stole all the attention I was getting!

Next I'm building a real blues box, a Grand Concert, for a world famous blues-man who I can't name, yet.

I heartily apologize Dave!
Although so far it's just you, me, and Slack, who had to come in and fix my bungled posting.  :D

Besides we just "need" more guitar pics on here.

Looking forward to seeing your GC and finding out who your blues-man is,
Joe

How about we start a new board and call it "G u i t a r  P o r n," with sub-boards like "Full-bodied," "Touch my Frets," and "Inlays"?

Of course I'm just joking Joe, I sort of like your company.
On that note, where are you? I have a friend in Bartlesville that I will be visiting soon I hope, maybe I can pass by your shop.

Tell me what you used for the video? it works for me.

Agree about more guitar pics.

I hope that mysterious "world famous" bluesman doesn't lurk around here...he might change his mind.. ;)
