Trust me now, don't ever sit down playin' to entertain, to satisfy your audience, because anything you play ain't gonna satisfy all of them anyway. Euroblues Promotions Blues Week 2010
« on: July 08, 2010, 10:47:27 AM »
Hi all,
I know that some of you will be attending this summer's Euroblues Blues Week, scheduled for August 1--August 7 this year.  Sunday is the arrival and orientation day and Saturday is the get-away day, with classes, concerts and jamming, Monday through Friday.  Michael Roach has put together a strong group of teachers including Kenny Sultan, Rich DelGrosso, Rick Franklin, Michael Messer, Homesick Mac, Michael himself and me handling the guitar classes, Grant Dermody, Joe Filisko and Eddie Martin teaching harmonica, and Tim Richards teaching piano.  Michael Roach will be teaching the vocal classes.  The week offers an unusual opportunity for "full immersion" in the blues with other musicians who share the same musical interests and many of the same goals.  Classes are offered at a variety of levels, accommodating beginners to advanced players.  There is still space for new enrollees.  I very much look forward to reuniting with old friends and making some new ones there, and seeing and hearing what people have been up to musically since last summer's session.
For more information, go to:  http://www.euroblues.co.uk/bluesweek2010.htm, and I hope to see you at Blues Week this summer.
All best,
Johnm

Be there or be square!!!! Get there if you can.

It's a great week, this year will be number 11.

Public health warning, The Boogie Boys will be in action again.

You're right, Phil.  I understated my initial post.  This event is one of my favorite times every year I've been.  It is great fun.
All best,
Johnm

Hi all,
I'm very much looking forward to the upcoming Blues Week that starts this Sunday, August 1.  Any of you who have been on the fence about attending and find yourselves with the time and money needed, should definitely contact Michael Roach at http://www.euroblues.co.uk/bluesweek2010.htm, since I'm sure there is still space available.  It's a great time!  I'll be heading across the pond this Saturday night, arriving in good time to be jet-lagged and wrung out for Sunday night's orientation and get-together.

I don't think I'll pack a kazoo, Richard, but there are usually some around.  I was hoping to find a banjo to play with the Boogie Boys this year.  Phil has been begging me to do it for years and I thought I might relent and do so this year.
All best,
Johnm

No-one has ever had their Boogie Boys membership voided over our 7 year history.
As membership secretary I must warn you that a banjo would result in a minimum 99 year ban.

Look forward to seeing you there John &. Simon.

Let's boogie!!!!!

I think, PP, that I would find it easier to turn the banjo's tuning machines with my hand than with the implement you depicted.  It looks as though it would serve well if I wished to change the banjo's strings, though.  It appears to be remarkably similar to what we colonials call a wire-cutter.
Densely,
Johnm

Hoping to arrive Monday lunchtime.  Hoping not to have to disappear to London during the week for work reasons...  Will, annoyingly, have to keep my Blackberry switched on for emails...

But looking better than it did!

On a more serious note, I hope you all have a great time. Sorry I can't be with you.
