Lightnin' -

Actually, I envy you that! I was either up North, or on the Piedmont road chasing after others. Bruce told me about the Species gigs that I missed. Did you go to the concerts we organized in late 72, and early '73... a famous first for Chapel Hill. Those WERE the days, weren't they!!

Hey all,
I found two more copies of Union County Flash and have one left- anyone else need a copy?
I have also looked for other music from the Trix catalogue and there really isn't much out there but if you are looking for a certain CD I can keep an eye out.

As a matter of interest, Gary, where do you get these CDs from that you keep mysteriously finding ???

Bin diving record stores mostly, on-line occasionally. If someone lets me know they are trying to find something in particular I'll look.

How about Smoky Babe? The Amazon price is a bit high. Sorry, but I've become accustomed to buying through independent sellers via Amazon. I'm simply not familiar enough with Babe's music + I recently bought two Robert Pete Williams cds and some cheap Roosevelt Sykes cds, "Sings The Blues" and "Gold Mine: Live in Europe", on which there is not a single live performance! Haha. Great record, though! I don't think Sykes ever recorded anything bad; I prefer him to Spann (but I'm going way off topic now).

Just heard the Henry Johnson's version of "Crow Jane" on the Juke, and I definitely need to get this album. But I wanted to say that his version sounds a lot like Bo Weavil Jackson's ("Pistol Blues") to me, although his rhythm is a lot more regular. The bass run Johnson plays over the A chord in particular is similar. Just a random observation.
