I am elated to announce that my first CD, Willie Brown's Liquor is now available on CDBaby.

************************************************

You can access it at http://cdbaby.com/cd/waxwingjohn and you should be able to listen to samples of all the tracks.

I'm really happy with this CD and hope you all enjoy it.

Word has it that this CD is sold out on CDBaby.  8)  As a one-time Weenie has said, 'you can earn dozens of dollars playing country blues..."

Congrats Waxy! <Shameless-plug-for-a-friend off...>

Okay, CD is now back in stock at CDBaby (See new link in my signature.-G-)

Also, the CD is now available as a digital download, at CDBaby, and wherever else they manage to market it.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future, I will get expanded liner notes (with a guitar geek's corner!) up on a web site soon.

All for now.

Just received my copy today.  This is a great CD that I am glad to add to my collection.  I hope you are working on the next one, Wax!

I finally got my copy today, and I like it very much.

The record has some stellar playing, and I really like the relaxed way you weave the vocals with your guitar lines. You make it sound so natural and easy. I think you really have to know your material in and out to make this happen.

The recording quality is also fabulous and everything sounds very natural. It's almost like being in the room with you.
You get some very pretty sounds from your guitars.

BTW thanks for the information on instruments, tunings, and positions you provide for each track. It's a great bonus for a guitar geek like me. :)

But when are we going to hear some jug band tracks? ;)

Cheers

Pan

Thanks for the nice words, Pan. You really covered all the bases. It's great to hear what other players feel about my music. Also glad you liked the liner notes. It was quite an effort creating all the text and I hoped folks would appreciate it.

And thanks to you, too, JT. I saw your post and meant to get back and answer it, but got side tracked.

I don't know if I'll be recording again soon, but I'm definitely trying to make some jug band music happen, even if I have to create solo guitar arrangements and play the jug myself. More about that in the Back Porch soon, I hope.

All for now.

Waxwing, this is some of the best stuff available on CD Baby. I'm listening to previews of each song on CD Baby right now. I've only heard Paul Geremia and you cover "Ghost Woman Blues", and thank you for making the lyrics to that song so clear to me, at last! Though "M & O Blues" has been done by many, including the great Rory Block, your version is unique and engaging. I like how you included Clifford Gibson (don't have his Document disc(s) and Scrapper Blackwell on this), and can't wait to listen to "Sporting Life Blues". "Future Blues" is ferocious. I will be purchasing this disc. Excellent job!
