We're not going to play the blues anymore. Let the white folks play the blues. They got 'em, so they can keep 'em - Miles Davis

My goodness, do these ever sound great. Even the kazoo.

Like being in the room with them.

Expensive though.

Thanks,
Alex

These XR recordings are an incremental improvement on everything to date. Does this mean very soon we'll have to buy all our country blues CD all over again? Some people out there are hoping so.

Still some excess compression and other weirdness in there they need to get out.

Wow again.  This seems more than an incremental improvement - maybe I'm living in a dream world, but hopefully XR technology will open these artists up to a whole new audiences.

If they can get rid of the 'swirlies', that phasing effect that shows up, and some high-mid distortion, I'll be very happy.

Pristine Classics has done Robert Johnson and Charlie parker too. Seems to have plans for more early blues artist releases.

To me, in an A / B test of the song samples here that are also on the RCA/Bluebird reissues from 1997, all the advantage goes to the RCA/Bluebird versions.  Nothing beats a good condition original metal master that's been carefully remastered to digital.

Ah thanks DJ - I'll have to listen more carefully to the Bluebird reissues!
