Weenie Juke Status
« on: June 14, 2004, 09:21:57 AM »
I'll try to post Juke status when there is a known problem or when we're trying something new.

The DNAS Server is currently down.  I'll check it at noon when I go home for lunch.  I have a son visiting for a week - I suspect he was doing something on the machine last night and brought the server down - the machine is in his room, so I did not check it first thing this morning.

cheers,
slack

Hypothesis correct. :D Audio server back up.

We'll work towards a dedicated, reliable feed in the near future.  Thanks for your patience.

Ack.  Cannot blame son on this one <g> Something is rebooting the machine - it may be my nightly disk image backup program.

Thanks for the heads up - audio server is now back up.

Is it me or is the famous server having trouble... when I tune in I get a very superior audio trailer but then sadly utter silence as the expected musical gems do not follow on..  ???
(That's enough of that. Ed)

A most excellent trailer indeed, Richard. I suspect Slack is tooling around with the Juke and it's offline temporarily.

The audio trailer is so superior(in many many ways), it being a 128kps 44100hz Stereo file, that it killed the 24kps 22.050hz mono stream... so we knocked it down a notch.? ?:P

Cookin' once again. :D

Whoops - I was under the impression that it was going to be mono, but it's worth it!

And, yes it's all up and running again :D

 ;)
And I hear you've found JRM's Winin' Boy :o :-X

I'll see if I have anything by Lucille Bogan that's even worse!

Do we need to worry about the FCC? They killed Howard Stern, didn't they?...

Hmm, forgot about Whinin' Boy - I'm more worried about some irate parent than the FCC. Whinin' Boy seems rather tame relative to all the porn sites on the net - but I think we should take it down and stick to the traditional double and single (as the case with Bo Carter) entenders.  Ya think?

Cheers,
slack

I agree. And let's avoid Lucille Bogan's alt. take of Shave 'Em Dry as well. :o I don't think we have it in there anyway.

To everyone involved with the Weenie Juke:
I think this is really Great, with a capital G. I think is fantastic to be able to listen to this great music (I have most of them on cd but this is way more fun). I like to guess who's playing on the tracks I don't know that well and then to see if I'm right.  I have the juke on A LOT.
Thanks to y'all.

 :)
