This is a great video. The best part, of course, is the audience.

Man that is a strange & intense video. What a rare privilege to watch some of the blues greats watch another blues great. Seems to me they didn't think a whole lot of what Jessie was laying down . . . or they were tired or . . . can't make out all who is there . . . pretty interesting & rare stuff. Jessie isn't even shown ONCE throughout his actual performance.

Yeah, that's a pretty all-star cast.  I'm sure I didn't catch everyone, but the audience included Willie Dixon, Big Joe Williams, Sunnyland Slim, Brownie McGhee, Sonny Terry, Booker White, and Muddy Waters. Was James Cotton in there too?.  Was that Sam Lawhorn holding the guitar?  Who'd I miss?

Anyone know when and where that was recorded?

I believe I saw Sunnyland Slim, & yes, looked like James Cotton to me . . . I think there was a blues summit or something in Canada in '68 & the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) did a Tv show featuring many of those performers which I saw years later & was hosted (yrs later) by Canadian rock blues jazz cat Colin James. . . first time I saw Brownie & Sonny, Otis Span (who may have stolen the show), Slim & etc.

Event took place Toronto, Thursday 27-Saturday 29th January 1966. TV program called Festival Presents The Blues, directed by Paddy Simpson, broadcast by CBC Sunday 23rd February. This topic has cropped up elsewhere on WC but can't locate it. Somewhere I have a full list of participants which I m-a-y have listed at the thread I can't locate!

Thanks Rivers but that's not what I had in mind which was originally by Dick Flohil or John Norris published by either Blues Unlimited or Jazz Journal shortly after the original event had taken place.

Maybe something I posted in another time, at another place, as another person! :o Is there a term for people suffering multiple personality disorders? No, don't answer that.  ;)

This is from two years later, but is in Canada and includes Willie Dixon and Big Joe, of course.
