Robert was loading his gear into the van when he dropped an amplifier onto his left hand and broke his forefinger. The second night he just reinvented all his chords for three fingers. Most amazing thing I ever did see - Robert Junior Lockwood, by Chris Smith on prewarblues list

Online source of old Edison Cylinders

For you die-hard old recorded music fans . . .

Probably not much in the way of blues here, but this article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/19/arts/music/19rose.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

mentions that this new website

http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu

has over 6,000 cylinders from the pre-electric recording era (188?-191?) online for your downloading and listening pleasure. Reading between the lines a bit in the article, there may be some "roots hokum" in the collection, which is said to contain a lot of minstrel songs.
