There were monthly updates on Blues & Rhythm magazine probably it's still running.

Yes and still running. Aptly titled "I Believe I'll Make A Change". Leroy Carr, Harlem Hamfats, Sparks Bros, Washboard Sam, Casey Weldon, Josh White, take your pick. :)

$145! Wow, finally I appear to have an appreciating asset, until edition 5 comes out if ever.

Hmm. They won't ship to Canada. Neither will Caiman, the next seller up at $138. And I've ordered from Caiman before.

Well speak of the devil!!

My mother suggested that I request one big gift for Christmas.

So I have gladly obliged and asked for the latest edition of "The Blues Bible"  :D

An excellent choice, but does Santa have them in stock?  Talking of Xmas, you are the piano man so try doing Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer.. we used to do it as an uptempo jazz piece, it swings well!!

Well, after trying every once in awhile through Amazon marketplace to get this book to no avail despite it being listed, a copy recently showed up on Amazon itself as "Only 1 Left In Stock". I ordered immediately thinking, yeah right, I'll believe it when I see it. To my surprise, I soon received a "your order has shipped" message and the mailman just delivered it today. They even sent the correct edition. So it indeed turns out that Amazon will occasionally find a copy of this and put it up for sale. Thanks to all Weenies for their help with previous searches.

OK, I NEED this thing.
Amazon.com has it listed for $120 which is almost doable for me . . . I just won't eat so much this month. Andrew . . . as a Canadian can I order from Amazon.com or do I have to go through Amazon.ca where there are several copies available but at higher prices?
Does anyone know of a new or good-condition used copy of the 4th edition a fella could pick up?

You can order through the U.S. amazon.com no problem. And fortunately the exchange on the dollar is essentially par now (less fortunate for our friends to the south). The only real difference is that you don't get the free shipping deal that you would through amazon.ca. But shipping is quite low as I recall.

A thought about books vs. food. It should be said that this is a big thick book of lists. I refer to it frequently and am very glad I ordered it, wouldn't have it any other way, but it's still a big thick book of lists with no nutritional value. ;D

One thing I did find when ordering was that I was unable to order B&GR through Amazon MarketPlace (the secondary, used sellers and associated sellers you can buy from through Amazon). I have before so am not sure what the problem was. Perhaps the price or the particular sellers (more than one) didn't ship outside the US or something.
