* Weenie's CD!

When they took me to the studio first - that was Joe McCoy and Mayo Williams - they let me wait about for hours because the studio wasn't free. So I said to myself "What the hell's the use of this; I better go home to see to my customers and give them that moonshine" - Kokomo Arnold, in Paul Oliver's Blues Off the Record

IMO Prine will go down as more of a panderer than a prophet, and as more of a boring huckster than a protester.  Prine is proof that just because someone writes songs accompanied by an acoustic guitar doesn't mean they have anything original or insightful to say.

I doubt Prine claims to be a prophet but he's a superb writer and performer. I've seen him many times and always been impressed. Certainly my favourite living performer.

Here's a short concert he gave at NPR in March of this year.

His voice sounds like it does from his battle with throat cancer.
