Blues strike your heart just like church songs do. I've played blues at churches before and had the preacher patting his foot. 'Cause music ain't but music, and a song ain't but a song - Robert Diggs to George Mitchell

? Suggest a Soundhole Pickup ?
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:51:08 AM »
Once again, thank you to all who replied to my recent post regarding hollow-body guitars. Since I now have a tube amp, I'm thinking maybe I ought to go ahead and get a sound hole pickup to experiment with for a while (for my Taylor).

I don't know anything about them, so please feel free to make suggestions as to specific models or share what you know. Kenny (slidnslim) suggested DeArmond. Searching the Musician's Friend site, I see Seymour Duncan, LR Baggs, Martin, Fishman, Dean Markley (but no DeArmond). What things does one need to know/consider when shopping for one of these animals? What are your experiences? And what about neck pickups?

If you have any recordings of yourself playing through one, please feel free to direct me to it.

Thank you - I really appreciate all of you!

-Greg
