No matter what a young person thinks he or she is really hot stuff at doing, he or she is sooner or later going to run into somebody in the same field who will cut him or her a new asshole, so to speak - Kurt Vonnegut, Timequake

Here's a clip of one of my favorite living guitar players, Craig Ventresco:

Craig is the closest thing I've ever met to a genius.  He plays with a flatpick and fingerpicks with his ring finger.  If you like the clip, I highly recommend his CD on Orgin Jazz Library called 'The Past is Yet to Come'.

He's also on the "Crumb" soundtrack.

Thanks for that, Todd. I was laughing uncontrollably with admiration by about the two-minute mark. One of the best guitar players I've seen.

Lightnin' Wells: "Cross the River Jordan" - posted on YouTube today

Lightin' looking very debonair and dramatic in sepia tones.

Pan, that doesn't sound like the version of Candyman that John Hurt played at the Newport fest in '65 or '64, this is the version I'm listening to,

but then again, which Newport fest is that? must be after 65 because Dylan's all decked out in furs.

Here's a cool Fred McDowell cover by a guy I never heard of before...Mark Nomad. Anyone heard of this guy before?

Nice Triolian, too!

Calvin,

Modify the above post so you can see how to post embedded Youtube videos.  There is a Youtube BBC code button (6th from the left) that you can use and all you need is put video ID in between the codes.

The code looks like this:
Code: [Select]
[yt=425,350]video id goes here[/yt]
Thanks,
