Another problem with the Juke's software getting "stuck" on a various artists compilation:  everything on the Sinners and Saints CD is listed as by TCI Section Crew.  In reality there are 9 different artists on there.

Charley Lincoln's Depot Blues just played as by Willie Baker.  Another "stuck" mp3 tag?

Thanks DJ!

Another "stuck" artist:  Slim Barton & Eddie Mapp's Fourth Avenue Blues (From the Georgia Blues (1928 - 1933) CD) plays as by Curley Weaver.  While I'm at it, I think every track on the recently posted Harmonica Blues CD plays as by Smith and Harper.

Here's an odd one. I noticed two new Big Joe Williams cuts played within about 15 min. of each other, but the one from vol. 2 was listed as by Big Williams Joe. Did a search for "Big Joe Williams and did get both volumes, but all the songs on the second vol. were listed  as Big Williams Joe. The song list generator must see them as different artists.

While scanning thru the Juke I was struck once more, JohnD, by the immense amount of well thought out organization that has gone into this web site and how beautifully and with what attention to detail it is integrated into the artistic style you have created. And now you've added the simple but effective classified section. I know of no other non-commercial, forum based web site that rivals Weenie Campbell as an integrated internet experience. Thank you so much.

All for now.

JohnC, you are too kind!

Ya know I need somethin' to keep me out of the bars at night and from chasin' wimin all night - and the spouse appreciates that too.  :P

I obviously enjoy it, it brings me enjoyment knowing that it brings others enjoyment.  And don't short change yourself or the many folks that contribute to this forum and Juke radio - I  get by with a little help (sometimes a lot of help) from my friends.

OK, I better quit before I get weepy.   :D

At the risk of telling you more than you want to know... the machine I devoted to the Juke is feeling the strain.  It is my old desktop, a 733mhz processor, with 512K of memory.  It worked well when the Juke had 2,000 tracks, but at 5,500+ it is apparently feeling the strain.  It gets 'stuck' when loading new CD's.  I'm going to put 256K more memory into it - which will max out this particular machine  - too see if that will eek some more life out it.

Thanks John!

Willie Blackewll's Bald Eagle Blues is playing as by Carl Martin.  Willie and Carl share a Document CD.  Don't know if there's anything easily done about this.

And while I'm at it:

Thanks David -- I just need to find the CD or the track listing in order to separate the artists.

... and thanks for the kind words!   ...it might be qualified to add... "amongst country blues nuts.."  ;)

Cheers,
slack
