Not really. I spent a few years of my childhood in Sowerby Bridge, Yorks, where my mother was from. Country blues appreciation in the UK is not confined to London. In fact, quite the contrary. London is the most famous town, is all. Take a trip there sometime and check it out.

But all you Weenies have to understand that Yorkshire is "God's Own Country" as we say up there and as ,I am sure, Stumblin' Andy will confirm.

Happy to oblige. Most of Yorkshire, apart from Leeds, obviously, is way better than any of your Londons.

Even Leeds can be quite nice. Why, it has a palm tree, and I'm not talking about  a potted one indoors either.

Re. Leeds, in 1970, after exhaustive nationwide research, I found that the Leeds Student Union bar served the best draft Guinness I ever found in the whole of England. I trust the tradition continues, somebody go check.

I'm pretty sure the Guinness experience would always be peaking the closer you get to Dublin but I've never had the pleasure of visiting Ireland. A close second to Leeds SU was the Irish Pub in the Altstadt in Dusseldorf.

I haven't found a spectacularly good draft Guinness in the USA yet sadly but I live in hope.
