Sleepy John Estes Lyrics

<< < (57/66) > >>

Johnm:
Hi Blues Vintage,
I re-listened and agree with both of the changes you hear to my projected changes. I'll wait until we hear from Chris before doing the editing.

banjochris:
Apologies for the little delay:

Buddy Brown

agree with all of both your changes except

2.1 I'd leave that "in" there – he doesn't articulate the T of "that" and I suspect it's just a very nasal "in," and "at your mind" would be rather odd

Poor Man's Friend

agree with all except

1.1 and 1.2 I'm not sure I'm 100% convinced by "you're freezin'" but it's closer than what's there now (it makes sense of course). I also hear "wire(s)" rather than "winder" and I don't hear "over" in either line. I do think it's "winder" in the last verse for sure.
such a difficult verse

4.1 I think he's singing "the" style not "to"
4.3 I don't hear "the" and I'd leave it "reach"

Johnm:
I've finally been able to complete editing on "Who's Been Tellin' You Buddy Brown Blues" after having been prevented almost a month by a technical glitch in the site software. I'll work on "T Model Blues (Poor Man's Friend)", but I think we can move forward on the continued checking of Sleepy John's lyrics now.

Blues Vintage:
Ah, technical problems, don't get me started. Great that it's fixed now.

3.1 'til my eyes got green and (cold) –sore-

banjochris:
Just from memory, I agree with those two changes!
