EBA staff is confirmed...
« on: January 24, 2011, 02:17:19 AM »
List is up on the website but the big changes are basically Del Rey, Sonny Black, Wizz Jones (3 days only).  Usual suspects for the rest- Michaels Roach and Messer, Homesick mac, Rick Franklin, Grant Dermody, Joe Filisko, Danny McCormack.

Having lost JohnM to Port Townsend I was rather hoping for Ari to return but I'm sure Del Rey will be a worthy alternative.  I know very little about Sonny Black and Wizz Jones though- anyone able to enlighten me?

Slim,

Wizz was in the vanguard of the British folk-blues explosion back in the 60's along with Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, Ralph McTell, John Renbourn, Alexis Korner et al.

There are a number of videos of Wizz playing on YouTube. See over at:

Cheers

Wizz seems to be on the folk side these days, we had experience of Sonny Black at Bromsgrove last year. Del will be an asset as she is a great player and performer. Her presence may force us to allow a uke into the Boogie Boys...
The harp boys seem to have come off best this time though. Nice to have Joe and Rick back - they help the party go with a swing.
Still, I'll be there again all things....

Ooh, ooh, Wizz Jones. Can't go wrong with Wizz. Wizz can play country blues with the best of them and has a particular creative twist. Lucky you guys.

Hi all:

Get ready for a whirlwind when Del arrives. She is one of my favorite PT teachers, but don't expect anything easy!. Her arrangements are real finger-streachers!

I won't mention ukes.

Thanks for the Wizz Jones video. Nice playing and interesting twists. I hear a lot of familiar licks and pieces from classic styles forged together. But in a way that doesn't sound like everyone out there. Seems like a player you'd have a hard time playing duo with though. Perhaps I'm wrong though. Nice work. Sounds like a hell of a line up.
