Was wondering if anyone else has been down in the delta taking the pilgrimage that I know only blues fans feel the need to. Any top spots or recommendations? So far my wishlist is dockery farms, highway 61, and a few gravesites.

Welcome to Weeniecampbell!
I'd recommend Steve Cheseborough's book: Blues Traveling: The Holy Sites of Delta Blues https://www.amazon.com/Blues-Traveling-Sites-Delta-Third/dp/1604731249/ Vicksburg and the civil war battle fields. Up the Mississippi to Greenville and eat dinner at Doe's Eat Place, up to Clarksdale and the blues museum, up to Memphis and the Peabody Hotel and Elvis's estate. Down to Oxford, the Natchez Trace, New Orleans. Steve's book has a few more details. Nyama74
That trip is still on my bucket list, as well...hopefully next year.

Hi,
I had the luck to travel 3 times from New Orleans up to Memphis. Here are my travel blogs from this trip....a lot of things to see....maybe you`ll find something for yor next trip..... http://busybedbugsusa2011.blogspot.com/ http://busybedbugsusa2013.blogspot.com/ http://busybedbugsusa2015.blogspot.com/ PDGRANT
I?ve travelled through Mississippi a couple of times, once from Chicago down to New Orleans and another time in a loop from Atlanta taking in Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama. Lots to do! The Blues Highway by Richard Knight is another decent guide for Highway 61.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks for the plugs for my book! It is coming out in fourth edition any day now, so go ahead and preorder it or ask your local bookstore to stock it.
In the meantime, feel free to contact me with Delta-travel questions or suggestions. Cheers and happy trails. https://www.amazon.com/Blues-Traveling-Sites-Delta-Fourth/dp/1496813006 Floridablues
