It's funny, you know this is my first ladder braced job, it really doesn't sound worlds different from my other X-braced guitars, the heavy unwound third captures about as much a difference as there is. It isn't particularly "thumpy" or without sustain. I "pushed" the volume and tone by setting the neck back slightly more than normal to make a higher bridge and saddle, I guess I was looking for a more "metallic" sound. I got the volume, but not the metallic, maybe just a little. What I did get, as the owner has told me, was a much more immediate response. He was looking for a loud, brash sound, and he seems to be pleased. Now, if it just doesn't blow up! Hah! It is my lightest guitar to date.
