The piano may do for lovesick girls who lace themselves to skeletons, and lunch on chalk, pickles, and slate pencils. But give me the banjo... When you want genuine music - music that will come right home to you like a bad quarter, suffuse your system like strychnine whiskey . . . ramify your whole constitution like the measles, and break out on your hide like the pin-feather pimples on a picked goose - when you want all this, just smash your piano, and invoke the glory-beaming banjo! - Mark Twain, Early Tales and Sketches, Vol 2 (1864-65)

Henry and John are back together and on the road again. Check out their schedule at hillstomp.com. I know they aren't everyone's type of blues but if you're in to some altenative Mississippi Hill Country check these guys out. My first exposure was walking by one of the Coffee House venues at Friday Night Blues in '06 or '07, their groove drew me in and I stayed to watch them the entire night (some of you might remember them from the Weenie House later that night). Surprisingly enough it isn't very often we see musicians/instructors/performers from Centrum Blues in our area.
We will be at the the Crepe House gig in Santa Cruz CA. on Saturday Feb. 2nd, 2013. Hope to see some fellow Weenies.
