Johnson, Miller & Dermody CD Release Concert, Bellingham: February 23, 2012
Hi, I wanted to let you know about a concert on Thursday, February 23, 2012 featuring Johnson, Miller & Dermody, celebrating the release of their new CD, "We Heard The Voice of a Porkchop". The trio features Orville Johnson on mandolin, John Miller on guitar, and Grant Dermody on harmonica, and we trade off on vocals, performing a variety of Country Blues classics and originals.
The concert on the 23rd will be held at the ballroom of the Bellingham YWCA, located at 1026 Forest Street N., 98225, in Bellingham, and will start at 7:30. Admission is $15.00
We hope you can make it to the show. We're excited about the CD and welcome the opportunity to share some of that excitement and our music with you and give you a chance to listen to the porkchop.
Hi all, Just a reminder for any folks who are in or around Bellingham, WA tonight: come on down to our CD release concert at 7:30 PM at the YWCA. Details can be found in the previous post. For any Vancouver Weenies, too, hope you can make it. All best, Johnm
Look forward to seeing John next weekend. Almost a shame the other two aren't coming
John- was there a specific decision for Orville to go solely with mandolin for this cd? I'm intrigued at the complete absence of his dobro and Im guessing it was an artisitic decision?
Going all mandolin was my choice. I really enjoy playing mandolin and this is the only time I get to do it in a band context so I decided to go for it. As you noticed, I did still have to get a little sliding in there!
We had a nice show last night and look forward to Saturday's Seattle concert. See y'all there.
