last part of last line is giving me trouble..."nerve to keep me from her door"?
If you notice any other mistakes, please let me know.
Thanks!
Ah it was early one morning mama I was on my way to school Ah it was early one monring on my way to school Lord that's when I got the notion to break my mothers rule
Oh the blues falling like showers of rain Oh the blues falling like showers of rain I sit here once and a while mama think I hear my baby call my name
Lord I cried last night mama then I cried the whole night long Cried last night mama then I cried the whole night long Won't live right mama cried won't have to cry no more
Lord I don't feel welcome pretty mama no place I go Don't feel welcome pretty mama no place I go Lord the good woman I love mama done drove me from her door

For "hauling like drivers" I hear "falling like showers." However, "blues fell/falling like showers of rain" is a commonlace, so my mind may be filling this one in.
As for ..."nerve to keep me from her door," I can't come up with anything better--or hear anything different.
I'd say your right Chris. Below is the updated version. Nice job all!

Here's my best shot, to pick up this thread that's about two-years old again. I'm basing the first verse on the Harry Woods version.
Paddlin' Madelin home Paddlin' Madelin home When I kiss your mouth again, Head in those clouds I'm feelin' Paddlin' Madelin that sweet sweet Madelin Paddlin' a-Madelin home...
Eyes of brown, eyes of blue Do not mean a thing to you or the reason I'm thinking that high-brown taking those crazy wild women from me With my high top-hat how can I lose my high top-hatted gal? Until I find her you best get away from me
it's fixed...fix it now...boot it now
Lord, I believe I'm gonna throw my mama some broken yo-yo string
When I tell you to get it, now mama, get it...
Eyes of brown, eyes of blue It don't mean a thing to you Or the reason I'm thinking that high brown taking Them crazy wild women from me With my high top-hat how can I lose my high top-hatted gal? Until I find her you best get away from me

There is no Kokomo Arnold lyric thread yet so perhaps this is a good place to start. Can anyone hear the missing lines in it 'Feels So Good':
Said I got a gal she's long and slim when she whup it, it's too bad, Jim because it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good
says Old Miss Jones she's long and tall stretch her legs from wall to wall coz it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good
Said the bullfrog sitting on the Lilly bank cried to the lord for his money back because it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good ride it, Jackson
says Old Miss Jones laid down in the grass d'you ever see a woman work a jelly?? so fast 'cause it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good
Mama it ain't no need you keep raising sand I know you been bugging' by the way you stand because it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good
see me coming mama hoist your window high see me going hang your head and cry because it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good aw get away now, Jim
said I don't feel welcome no place i go the woman I love done drove me from my door because it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good
said Mary had a little Ford She liked it mighty well she runned it up a telegraph pole and tore it all to hell because it feels so good yeas it feels so good talkin bout my little gal because it feels so good yeah man ride it
edited to pick up correction from Lastfirstface

Hi all, Kokomo Arnold's "Sissy Man Blues" was included on the eighth Tefteller calendar CD. Like the majority of Kokomo Arnold's songs it sounds to have been played lap-style with a slide in Vestapol tuning. He really is exuberant on this cut and is in Tommy McClennan's class for self-exhortation. All of Kokomo's spoken asides are shown parenthetically in the transcription. For what it's worth, he pronounced "Kokomo", "Kokeemo". Church bells "toning" occur about as often in blues lyrics as do church bells "tolling".
I believe, I believe I'll go back home I believe, I believe I'll go back home Lord, acknowledge to my good gal-mama, "Lord, I know I have done you wrong."
Now, I'm gon' ring up China (yeah man!), see can I find my good gal over there (Ride it, Kokeemo, ride it!) I'm gon' ring up China, see can I find my good gal over there Says, the Good Book tells me that I got a good gal in this world somewhere
Hollerin', the church bells is tonin' (yeah man!) on one Sunday mornin' (Boy, that's old Kokeemo!) Hollerin', the church bells is tonin', on one Sunday morn Hollerin', some old dirty deacon, a-been rung that bell, stole my gal and gone (Play it, Kokeemo!)
Lord, I woke up this mornin', with my pork-grindin' bidness in my hand Says, I woke up this mornin', with my pork-grindin' bidness in my hand Lord, if you can't send me no woman, plea-ease send me some sissy man
I'm gon' sing these blues, mama (yeah man!) and I'm gon' lay 'em up on your shelf Now, I'm gon' sing these blues, mama, and I'm gon' lay 'em up on your shelf Lord, you're gonna hear these blues again, mama, when you sure gonna sing 'em yourself
OUTRO (Now play it, Mr. Ko'!)
All best, Johnm
