Title: The McClurg Jam Session
Post by: lindy on February 03, 2021, 08:10:23 AM
A couple of weeks back I mentioned a 15-year-old banjo player who I appreciate as someone continuing the tradition of Appalachian mountain music.

Here's a story about some elders with whom she shares her love of the music, much further to the west, in the Ozarks. The "younger ones" are in their 70s:

Good quote: "Because it's ear music, it's a little bit fragile."

I created this thread in February as an example of something we could all relate to: our chances to get together with friends to play music together were limited because of Covid, and we really missed them.

I saw this today:

You'll have to scroll down about 2/3 to see the picture proving that the McClurg Jam session is back. Here's hoping that your local sessions are getting ready to do the same.
