Title: Cecil Augusta "Stop all the buses"
Post by: workinblues on October 27, 2008, 04:42:16 AM
Hi All,
I am new to the forum and have an interesting question for you. Does anyone here know anything about Cecil Augusta, who appears on the CD "Alan Lomax Blues Songbook" at Rounder with "Stop all the buses"? I have been looking for clues but without success.
It is a great country blues song, but unlike anything else.
best,
Paul

Othan than what Lomax noted about him - that he was 39, and from Williston, Tennessee - similar questions have been asked since the release four years ago of that CD. I don't believe any new info has come to light but I'd gratefully be corrected on that.

Thank you Slack -- years ago I used to listen to the WC internet radio. What a pity that you had to shut it down.

I wish we could hear more from Cecil Augusta, but that is most unlikely to happen.

Hi Paul,

We haven't given up on Weenie Juke yet, the server is carefully stored in my basement.  I think we'll know the status of internet radio much better by the end of the 1st quarter 2009.

A long wait, but always full of hope.
