Man, don't ever take a drink from an open bottle. You don't know what might be in it - Sonny Boy Williamson II, (reportedly) to Robert Johnson Aug 13 1938

I'm pretty sure Lemon's was '26 and Sleepy John's was in '27. Don't know if Lemon was the first tho.
Chris I don't know who said it first, but when you say that line to me, I think WILLIE BROWN.
Feels like I'm get'n older every day. Uh, that'd be WILLIAM Brown, recorded by Alan Lomax and John Work as late as '42, and he was definitely covering the Jab Jones piano and Yank Rachel mando accompaniment of the earlier Sleepy John version. And doin' a fine job of it, needless to say.
"Like Big Bill, I'm gettin' older ev'ry day." All for now. John C. Pages: [1] Go Up
