Also, I think Blues Travesty would be a hell of a name for a band.

Why is the harp player (and I ain't talking about no mouth-harp here!) always a woman? It's OK, you don't have to answer that. Make sure you take 3 minutes to watch, there's a whole bunch of other stuff going on here besides Harpo's playing. Lindy Exactly! Also, I think Blues Travesty would be a hell of a name for a band. Yeah OK - Harpo wasn't a woman. I must admit when I wrote the post, I did think of my friend Robin Williamson (ex-Incredible String Band) who plays a pretty mean celtic harp. Anyway, we digress...

Harpo being a male was kind of secondary to why I posted that clip. That little segment--as with a lot of skits inside of Marx Brothers films--says tons about race relations in America in the 1930s, which is one of our favorite decades here in Weenieville. He also plays a bit of "Blue Moon" in the clip, which may be the closest he ever came to playing the blues on his harp. L I think the Henry Thomas one is worse - instead of a photo, there's a generic black guy doing the bad lip sync.
