Hello fellow weenies. It's been awhile since I've checked in here, but figured I should let you all know about this guitar I recently finished, my 50th! I built it for the pure joy of it in between orders.
Champlin #50, parlor size, ladder braced Engelmann Spruce top, Oregon Walnut back and sides, Mahogany neck, Rosewood fretboard and bridge, 24" scale length, two way adjustable truss rod. It's got a nice thin matte lacquer finish, a very comfortable soft-V profile neck, 1 3/4" at the nut, 2 1/4" at the 12th fret, and a nice player's set up. It's very lightweight and responsive. I've been playing it a bunch the last two weeks and it sounds and plays great! A super fingerpicking guitar for sure.. with or without picks, it projects nicely with the sound you'd expect from a small body ladder braced guitar. It's also been getting broken in nicely as a backup guitar for fiddle tunes and it excels at that job. Lots of volume, punch and character. $2000 with a hard case, plus shipping if applicable.
Also I'm gonna be out at Port Townsend this year (it's been too long) and hopefully I'll build another one-off like this to bring. Thanks for looking!

I'm in Seattle by the way, if any local folks want to check it out in person.

Beautiful! Congrats on number 50! That's quite an accomplishment!

Good to see.
For anyone toying with the idea of a new guitar from Devin (who's prices are still very good for a hand made guitar) - don't hesitate! Devin is a pleasure to work with and produces beautiful looking and sounding instruments.
I still smile involuntarily every time I open the case of mine.

I'll second that!
A beautiful guitar indeed!

Pan
