The curtain would open and you wouldn't see nothing but this big record player... You know, a Victrola. Then Matt, he would come out and open the door, don't you know, and then I would step out singing while Hersal [Thomas] was playing the piano. It was beautiful, child, you should have seen it - Sippie Wallace describes a dramatic stage entrance in the 1920s, quoted in Black Pearls: Blues Queens Of The 1920s by Daphne Duval Harrison

Well, I suppose I've answered my own question haven't I? Well done. It's always a wise plan to check the TAGS first under either the artist name or what's listed in discographies. That's what it's been designed for.

Lukes recordings appear, amongst other places I'm sure, on a Document 3 cd set -

I have his complete recordings, absolutley one of my favorites. A great, unique songwriter, and I love that relaxed singing. There is a discography on Stefan Wirz's site.

Shoot! I'm about 7 bucks under what I need to purchase it, I'll find some way to earn that money!
Hi all,
I just thought it made sense to merge Calvin's new Luke Jordan thread with the earlier one that Stefan started. Good detective work, by the way, Calvin. It is really great to have that one picture of Luke Jordan. all best, Johnm Calvin, I can confirm that discography you posted is correct according to the bible, Dixon Godrich & Rye.

One of my best purchases ever is the Document 3cd set. If I had to compile a list of essentials it's there.
