Edited to add: This clearly refers to location and not quality, as the people writing the review did not stay there. The place in Brockenhurst they mention says prices from ?126(!!).

Richard is booking the Crown in Lyndhurst- which is a different village and a different hotel to the one in Lymington!

Glad you managed to sort it out. I'm afraid I'm teaching all weekend including Saturday night so can't make it... I'll probably be around on the Friday though - got to catch some newts.

Right then - Lyndhurst.  I suppose if you're from Guernsey all these English names sound the same...

Right, the latest is that the room is booked for a conference on the Friday daytime so it seems ws can have it from sort of 6-7pm pm onwards and then through the Saturday. The cost is ?150, which split between us should not break the bank entirely, anyway by then they will all have been nationalised    Ah, it looks as though I will have to pay that up front so you lot had better arrive 

This will all be confirmed, and reconfirmed on Wednesday but it looks 99.999% as it stands.

Finally PP I'm not letting you play my guitar again. From Guernsey indeed, damn cheek! Way off the mark! We might have lived here for a few years but I doubt if we'll stay forever. I'm from Bristle where all the good jazz comes from, now that's a hard place and other olde jokes. In fact I'm going over this weekend to do a gig, you could buy me a drink..

Sounds good- and if we have it Friday, we presumably get the benefit of hearing Natterjack's talents (oh and I can drink as much beer as I like and do some playing on the Saturday instead)

My Dad might even venture along if we're not careful.  Of course, its usually embarrassing having one's dad come along to such events, but realistically he is probably more in line with the average age group than I am anyway

I would if I could, but I don't live in Bristle and to be quite honest I'm not mad about jazz (sorry!).  Hopefully I can buy you a small Tizer in the New Forest.  I'm looking forward to you teaching me some flash lap slide licks - or maybe preferably some easy ones I might have a chance with.

Right get in there and book a room somewhere Weenies, this is all go.

I have confirmed we have the function room from 6pm on the Friday through to the Saturday night and we will need a whip round for that.

The hotel does have some single rooms from ?65 so as I imagine that as there won't be that may ladies appearing get in there quick and book one to save some loot, I have !

Anyone contemplating staying at the Crown - DON'T book direct, I saved ?30 by going through www.booking.com even after asking the hotel for their best price. They also list the other hotels in and around Lyndhurst.
