Aside from possibly Rosetta Patton does anyone know of anybody that is still living that knew Charley Patton?  80 years ago is a long time but the math doesn't make it an impossibility.

Well it isn't impossible, and not as improbable as one would think.  Right now there are more than 14,000 people living in Mississippi in their 90s.  There are almost 600 living in Mississippi that are 100 years old and over.  There are more than 20 people over 110 in the state of Mississippi. Almost all live in retirement homes and many of them have sound minds.  Now if only 10 percent of them are African Americans that mean that 1400 are in their 90s, 60 in their 100s, and 2 over 110.
