Whiskey Drinkin' Woman- A Trans-Atlantic collaboration
« on: April 19, 2013, 06:25:58 AM »
Prompted by JohnM's recent post on the Rossevelt Sykes lyrics section, and by a suggestion some time ago by "BlueinGreen" Mike Peterson that it would be fun to try a collaboration...

I recorded the Guitar and vocal, with gaps, and emailed it to Mike, who sent me back a harp part.  I then blended the lot together and messed around a bit in Cubase, as well as re-doing the slide part in order to arrive at the end result.

I've put it in Soundcloud (another new experience for me) rather than squeezing it into a Weenie-sized MP3.  Seemed a waste to spend time trying to make it sound lovely only to wreck it with an MP3 converter!

Seems I can't make the actual widget play here- but nevermind. The link should work!

Nice job, Simon and Mike!  Good tone and time and that low slide part shadowing the vocal sounds great.
All best,
Johnm

Nice work guys!
I wish I was as handy with the computer stuff, not to mention the great playing.

Cheers
