A true road warrior, many years over 100 dates plus session work, so I'm told. The only time I saw him with Wally Ingram was in 1999 or 2000 in the gymnasium of Chimacum High School -- for those of you not in Western Washington, it's a small town south of Port Townsend, birthplace of Weenie Campbell. Back then it was even smaller and mostly a farm community. He was surrounded by a whole bunch of instruments on stage, including an oud, which he said grabbed his attention as an 11-year-old.
An amazing show. Lindy eric
A more comprehensive survey of David's career. He also did collaborated with Henry Kaiser on CD collection of indigenous Madagascar music, and worked with Ry Cooder on film soundtracks like Long Riders.
