What a perfectly wonderful musician he was. That lap slide playing he did with Jackson Browne is among my favorite slide playing of any type ever. And he did and could do so much in addition to that. Condolences to his family and friends.

A true road warrior, many years over 100 dates plus session work, so I'm told. The only time I saw him with Wally Ingram was in 1999 or 2000 in the gymnasium of Chimacum High School -- for those of you not in Western Washington, it's a small town south of Port Townsend, birthplace of Weenie Campbell. Back then it was even smaller and mostly a farm community. He was surrounded by a whole bunch of instruments on stage, including an oud, which he said grabbed his attention as an 11-year-old.



An amazing show.
