I'll have to wait until I get back to WA, get out "the Rural Blues" and listen with the headphones. Not that I doubt your word, it's just that it's an unusual "vowel shift" to say the least. My equipment here in NJ is just a combo, but its a poor carpenter who blames his tools. Nevertheless, this is fascinating in itself, and maybe Will pronounced "I" as "Ow." I'll have to listen to his other songs for clues.
