I highly recommend this set of books. The writing in the two pictured up top is some of the most evocative writing on Paramount, its artists and the era that I've yet to read (though I admittedly haven't had a chance to read the Alex van der Tuuk book/s) and it's a shame that the writing is in a sense locked up in the box set as its deserves a more widespread audience. The 2nd two books have a page length (or sometimes more) bio, details, etc on nearly every Paramount artist. I'm still slowly working my way through those. All of them are gorgeously laid out and printed with amazing reproductions of ads and some wonderful photos of artists in the first two as well.
