My latest guitar edition
« on: December 17, 2004, 12:29:07 AM »
Hey everyone,
Here is my latest guitar.? I love this thing!!? It is a Martin 000-28vs.? I had never liked any of the Martin's I tried before, but during a three hour break in-between classes I ventured over to a guitar shop to kill some time.? Before even knowing it was a Martin I walked over to this guitar and it was the first thing I picked up.? MISTAKE!!!? I had to have it.? Wait a minute..........This season is supposed to be for giving.......but I had to have it.........Oh the power of addiction.........

Hi Richard,
It is a new instrument.  I'm with you in that I never really liked Martins until I tried this one.  Here are the specs off the Martin page.  It is a replica of a vintage Martin from the so-called golden era of Martins. The neck is the best feeling neck I've ever played as I love wider necks.  The tone is just beautiful as well.   What do you play??

That's a very long spec list, however the guitar certainly looks the part and I think that you do know when it is the right instrument for you. Enjoy it.

What do I play, well badly usually ;) in lap style on an old wood National... but, I have something else suitably ancient on it's way and will report more on it's arrival :P

One of things I love about new Martins is the SMELL!  When you open the case that lovely wood and resin smell wafts out, almost worth buying a new Martin simply for that.

Thanks for the links pyrochlore,
I enjoyed reading everyone's guitar acquisitions.  I haven't delved into the old guitar collecting yet.  I'm a little hesitant as it appears once a person starts one can't quit!!!  I promised my fiance no more than one guitar per year.  However, I broke that promise already with this latest purchase!!!  New year's resolution..........One purchase a year!!
take care
Ryan
