(I’m finding my tips getting cut especially by sliding a lot.) I recall you mentioning you were working on banjo playing a while back. If you're still playing banjo, and it has steel strings on it, try switching to Nylgut strings. I reckon they sound better, and are much kinder on the fingertips doing all those clawhammer slides in sawmill tuning.
