Blues in the Lower Chattahoochee Valley
« on: January 09, 2013, 04:48:37 PM »
Here's an interesting article by Steve Bransford, from the Emory University, about the blues in the lower Chattahoochee valley. Much to chew on, and I'm only starting. Interviews of George Mitchell as well as short bios,  recordings and interviews of many musicians.

Just ran across this article tonight, hunting down anything else by William Grant (his Jack of Diamonds is well worth a listen). Great article and yes, indeed...  lots to think about!

We would know none of these artists had it not been for the work of George Mitchell. Let us all bow down!!

I was just down through that area last week.  Predominately agricultural and depressed, great conditions for the blues.

That really is a good webpage Steve Bransford has put together, kudos due. And as Peter says, all bow down to George Mitchell!
