John had recently flown for the first time and did not like it at all. Pat Sky tried to reassure him, saying it was a pretty safe means of transport and adding, "Anyway, when it's your time to go, it's your time to go." John thought a while and answered, "Yeah, but what if you're on the plane and it's the pilot's time to go?" - from Phil Ratcliffe's Biography of Mississippi John Hurt
It is a wonderful feeling to wake up in the morning and realize that you, oh God, have given me another day to live. And I am especially grateful today, on this Thanksgiving, that I can be with my loved ones and honor your spirit. Amen.
PS could you please do something about the weather? It?s been snowing far too much for the time of year and tomorrow will be worse. Thanks in advance🙏😎🙏
I stacked a cord and a quarter mixed hardwood in the barn today so I?m holding up pretty good so far!
PPS also god, please tell frontier to hurry up and fix our internet connection. ETA Monday is not really acceptable, IMNSHO. I?ll be calling them again in the morning to see how you got on
Currently at 12?F, going down to 3?F by early morning, max 18?F tomorrow. Wind chill at 5 AM predicted to be -10?F, it's been blowing a Norwester all today. The snow came very early this year, crazy stuff. Fortunately I'd just completed a lot of weather-stripping and other moves to make the house more comfortable than it was last year and it's made a big difference. Ah well... it's lovely here for the other three seasons.
