This is to announce that the 2017 Mississippi John Hurt Music Festival will be held at the Mississippi John Hurt Museum in Avalon, MS on September 2nd and 3rd, noon until five both days. Bring your guitar and help celebrate one of American's most esteemed songsters! We will have an open mic, jam sessions, BBQ, and free tours of the Mississippi John Hurt Museum. Mary Frances Hurt will be on hand to greet fans and talk about her legendary grandfather and his legacy. Hope to see you there!
