Hi Blues Vintage, the intro has a very distinct sound which Spann only applied to his D playing accompaniments rather than C. Also the intro is almost the same as Country Boy posted a couple of comments up.

Thomas Alright, I'm convinced.
I made the correction. I see John has the song up in Weeniepedia and noted the key of D. Thanks. C.C. Rider
Otis Spann - Vocals, Piano 1966 Chicago, Illinois Piano in Bb INTRO Oh, C.C. Rider, see what you have done Oh, Lord, Lord, C.C. Rider, see what you have done You know you made me love you, woman, now your man done come Well, now C.C. Rider, see don’t the moon is shinin’ bright Whoa, yeah C.C. Rider, the moon is shinin’ bright You know, I could just be with you, woman, everything will be alright SOLO I’m gonna buy me a pistol, just as long, just as long as I am tall Whoa-oh, buy me a pistol, long as I am tall (Spoken: Let me tell you woman) If you can’t have me, baby, you won’t have no man at all Well, now C.C.C.C.C.C. Rider, woman, woman see what you‘ve done Oh, C.C. Rider, see what you’ve done You know you made me love you, now your man done come OUTRO Hi, it should read "tall" instead of "told": "I’m gonna buy me a pistol, just as long, just as long as I am told", also in the 2nd line of the 3rd verse. Kind regards, Bluesy Chris
Thanks, Bluesy Chris. I never heard that right I guess. There's a Jimmie Rodgers song (Blue Yodel) with that line.
Poor Country Boy
Otis Spann - Vocals, Piano Chicago, Illinois July 14, 1960 Piano in D INTRO One of these days, peoples and it won’t be long One of these days, peoples and it won’t be long Say, you gonna look for me baby, and your daddy will be gone You know I’m just a poor country boy, right off of Mr. Rudock’s farm You know I’m just a poor country boy, right off of Mr. Rudock’s farm You know I never had a chance to get a education, I’m only telling you where I’m from When the moon rise at night, I’ll be laying down in my bed Well, when the moon rise at night, I’ll be laying down in my bed You know I, b’lieve want somebody, to come and rub my achin’ head I gets up so early in the mornin’, ‘cause my boss didn’t ‘low me to sleep so late I used to rise early in the mornin’, my boss didn’t ‘low me to sleep so late You know, that’s why I’m from the country, that’s why I’m goin’ back home to stay OUTRO I don't think I've ever heard Otis Spann speak before – he has almost a Caribbean accent to my ears. And just a little note in verse 2 you have "county" twice instead of "country" – a typo rather than a mishearing I'm sure – great song!
Thanks, Chris. Fixed.
According to Wikipedia, Spann's mother, Josephine Erby, was a guitarist who had worked with Memphis Minnie and Bessie Smith. She must have turned her back on the devil's music later in life. Hi Blues vintage, See See Rider is definitely Bb position piano and poor country boy is D for sure.
