Apologies to Willie McTell but here goes into O'Muck's project:...............

Hersal Thomas was (one of) the finest guys I ever knew... We came up together, in Chicago... He taught me everything I know... He was the master of all pianists in those days... King of the boogie woogie... These rocks the way he would play 'em... Really sad he didn't live... Today he would be king... He knew everything, this boy from Texas... O.K Hersal this is for you, wherever you are - Dan Burley, Hersal's Rocks

Well that's where it ended up - tuned the same as Willie, down at A. I must also say that the compression does me no favours as there is a lot lost and it really has come out muddy.
I now have a new set of lyrics and am working on the guitar part, which turns out to be a bit more complicated to play than what I imagined in my head. It's that way sometimes. I love McTell's line about the banker's bonus or was that a new contribution?
The banker line was mine - a contemporary allusion which I'm sure would have been just as true in McTell's day. Glad it slipped in fairly seamlessly.
