Uncle Dave Macon
« on: April 21, 2011, 08:57:17 AM »
I'm looking for a source to determine the dates of the following recordings from a record called "78 Revelations" (Tremulant 2012):

01. Over The Road I'm Bound To Go
02. Blackwater Blues
03. Sail Away Ladies
04. Walking In The Sunshine
05. Don't Get Weary Children
06. Greay Cat on the Tennessee Farm
07. Deliverance Will Come
08. Go Along Mule
09. Carve That Possum
10. Keep My Skillet Good And Greasy
11. Ain't It A Shame To Keep Your Honey Out Of The Rain
12. I'm A-Goin' Away To Morn
13. Jordan Is A Hard Road To Travel
14. Way Down The Old Plank Road
15. Shall We Gather At The River
16. Tom And Jerry
17. Uncle Dave's Beloved Solo
18. Bile Them Cabbage Down
19. The Crossed Butcher & the Cackling Hen
20. Rise When The Rooster Crows
21. Rock About My Sara Jane
22. Worthy Of Estimation
23. The Bible's True
24. Rabbit In The Pea Patch
25. Hold That Wood-Pile Down
26. Run, Nigga, Run

Any suggestions?  Even if the best I could do is a reasonably narrow range of dates, that would be OK.

Hi misterjones,
I've got a few of the dates, assuming your tracks are the same as the ones I have info for.

   *Tom and Jerry--May 9, 1927
*Shall We Gather At The River--May 10, 1927
   *The Cross-Eyed Butcher and the Cackling Hen--September 9, 1926
   *I'm A-goin' Away in the Morn--May 9, 1927
   *Carve That Possum--May 9, 1927

Those are the only titles from your program for which I have recording dates.
All best,
Johnm

Number 12: "I'm A-Goin' in the Morn" should obviously read "I'm A-Goin' Away in the Morn." Sorry.

I paid $50 for it when it came out. So you can be an expert like me (harrumph!) for $13 less.
