My Grand Concert "000" made by dave in tejas
« on: July 01, 2011, 09:03:47 AM »
Hi all,

Here are a few pics and sounds of my new Grand Concert 000 guitar made David Newton, better known on this forum as 'dave in tejas'
Mahogany (Honduras) body and red spruce (adi) top.

Here are 6 short video's of me playing different styles to highlight the guitar's versatility

Some Lonnie Johnson in drop D

"Take It Easy" a Duke Ellington composition in drop D (arranged by the Dutch wizz Ton Van Bergeijk)

Some Tommy Johnson inspired delta blues in drop D

The inevitable blues licks ? la Lightnin' Hopkins and Baby Tate in the key of E

A Harry Volpe composition called "Midnight Clear" (click twice on the video and read the video description to find out more and how to get the tab)

Finally, well...I used to play some Chet Atkins stuff a long time ago...I know people who play this even faster  ;)

Did I already mention : I really love this guitar....thanks Dave
Carl

Great sounding (and beautiful) guitar and great playing as usual Carl.  Congratulations!   I think it is very cool folks are making connections with some of these great individual guitar makers.

A stunning beauty!
For being new it seems like you're already old friends!
I like the width of that fingerboard and the  open headstock, inlays and wood selection seem stellar!

Great picking!

Congratulations!
