John,
Glad to see you put SugarInTheGourd in your signature. For folks who might not know, John Salmon (aka BlindSockeyeSalmon - helluva blues name John) operates the best Old Time station on the net.... and has been broadcasting SugarInTheGourd for how many years John?
(we need to exchange broadcasting emails sometime)
BTW, I put a coupla unwounds in the mail to you yesterday.
Cheers,
slack
(way off topic, I'll move later)

Many thanks for the kind words, Slack!
Sugar in the Gourd started a bit more than 4 years ago -- it was a Live365 Stream at first. Since then it has grown a bit but has been technologically eclipsed by this site of yours -- we'll have to compare notes sometime!
Btw, I am real-world friends with Frankie and the oft-mentioned Ari Eisinger, with whom I hope to venture out soon for some exotic ethnic cuisine. New twins here at the BlindSockeye homestead so I haven't made it out much of late...
Am also a big fan of John M's instructional videos -- have both MJHs and Bo Carter is on his way along with Ernie Hawkins's Lightnin' tape and a couple others from Stefan & co.
Thanks for the great site and the great service you provide!
And thanks for those unwound thirds! Look forward to trying then out...
All the best,
John

In various online forums, whenever someone asks for recommendations for "great online music stations", my answer is always:
- Sugar in the Gourd (http://sugarinthegourd.com/)
, and
- Weenie Juke Radio (http://weeniecampbell.com/juke/playing.php)
Many thanks to both of you guys for providing this great music online!

Thanks Outfidel - appreciate the kind words!

Likewise! Outfidel, you and I frequently cross paths in cyberspace. We seem to like all the same stuff. You must be part of my karass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karass).
Slack, I got the unwound 3rds you sent -- many thanks! Look forward to trying them out in the next couple days.
Best wishes,
John

Karass, from Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle. The concept that groups of people orbit around each other throughout their lives without ever really knowing each other, necessarily. I talked to John M about this a while back, as he and I grew up on opposite sides of Philly, both went to Cornell in the early '70s, (where I saw him play in Country Cookin') and then came to know him at PT and thru various online forums. And we're less than a month apart in age. I think as you get older you may start to recognize the people in your Karass.
Yes, two great online stations!
All for now.

Yeah, but just beware John - I can be a real pain in the karass? ?;)
