Yeah, I saw the Jugband book among the related items, and I am almost more intrigued by that myself.

In years gone by there has been discussions at Wennie concerning the progress of a book that Pen Bogert had been researching for a couple of decades entitled Hidden History: The Story of Blues in Louisville. I last had contact with him in 2006 but an email to him yesterday has bounced back.

Later addition

I'd completely forgot about yet another stillborn jug band publication (1971) which eventually saw light of day only as an 80 page booklet. Attached is a scan of the introduction. (click image to zoom)

Just saw "In Tune: Charley Patton, Jimmie Rodgers, and the Roots of American Music" in Amazon and the reviews look excellent.  Anybody read it, and, if so, is it worth a call to Santa?
