Just a quick heads-up for those who may be interested in a new book about the legendary country blues singer/guitarist (and sometimes pianist ;)) Bukka White.
The book is titled "The Legend of Booker's Guitar" and more information can be found here:

Thanks,

The latest issue of Record Collector magazine in the UK features a review of the book - it can be found online here:

For any Weenie who would like to own a piece of history Bukka?s 1933 National is up for auction on 13th March. This will take place at UK guitar auctions in Bath.
It has a very reasonable reserve set at between ?80k to ?120k. See you all there.

Nice web presence for the auction with a lot of background and story:

Interested to see how much it goes for in the end.
Looking at the prices that David Gilmour's Christie's auctions is trying to achieve, I find the estimate to be quite optimistic (unless of course, a prominent celebrity guitar player millionaire wants a piece of Blues history). For comparison, Gilmour's "Black Strat" is on sale, with an estimate of $100k to $150k, and arguably this is a much more widely know legendary holy guitar grail than Bukka's old National.
Let's see how it goes...
