Post by: islandgal on June 17, 2021, 07:14:17 AM
This was my introduction to the Blues. It still astonishes me.

I got the DVD. James Cotton nearly blows the roof off. I was looking a while back for the complete Muddy set. There's got to be more from the session but I could't find it.

Harry, the original set was an hour long. I would LOVE to see the whole thing, unedited.

Did some more research in this.
They were actually planning to release more (2018) from the session but to this day nothing happened.

"The first of these deluxe editions will feature the historic recordings captured in 1966 featuring Waters, Willie Dixon and fellow blues trailblazers, in session together for the first and only time for the CBC."

This video is unedited and is pretty rough in places, but I thought I'd post it anyhow. From the same session you reference.

It is possibly the outtakes from that session.

Thanks islandgal.

They recorded and filmed for three days. I'm specifically looking for the Muddy Waters stuff. His band from this period was just incredible.
Hope they'll release it some day.
