Casey Bill Weldon discog question
« on: November 10, 2012, 05:33:01 PM »
Howdy folks,
I've bought all my CBW online and have no liner notes -- could somebody tell me where/when exactly the two tracks from "Too Late, Too Late" go as regards the rest of his material?

They clearly don't go at the end, where I've got em.

Thank you.

More info needed. There are 8 CBW tracks on the Too Late series, volumes 3, 4 & 7, that I know of, there may be more.

Oh gracious. I somehow didn't realize there were that many, but I'm interested in 'Do You Think That's Right' and 'Did You Mean What You Said'.

Or, hey wait! Is there anywhere I can consult a full listing of all his known sides?

The online discographies of Stefan Wirz are the first place to check.  :)

Both takes of Do You Think That's Right and Did You Mean What You Said were recorded by Vocalion in Chicago on March 24, 1937.  Personel is unknown.  Two takes of each song were recorded, none of them were issued at the time.

Man oh man, that is the book for me, but not at $155. I got a copy of a similar book on Western Swing and it's indispensable.
Thanks for the date, dj, but I'm hoping to place it chronologically without having any other dates, so I wonder if you (or somebody) could take a  peek and let me know what sides were done at the previous or following session.
Thanks.
